It’s A GIRL!!

Derick and I went to the doctors last week and found out that we are having a baby girl! We are very excited! She looks healthy and was moving like crazy when we got the ultrasound. We had them make a DVD this time, but I was not able to get it to post. It was really neat to be able to see every thing! I mean everything! I was counting fingers and toes! The midwife did say she is a bit on the small side, but it is nothing to worry about. She is in the cone of development and everything else was great. I was a bit shocked though because I was 98% sure it was a boy. Believe it or not Derick wanted a girl and I wanted a boy, but I am getting really excited about pink, dresses, and dress up! Now our next challenge is naming her…

Kitchen Remodel DONE!

Check out the NEW kitchen! I think Derick is amazing!

It has come a long way from this…..

He took out the nasty old light fixture and added a fan and recessed cans (I’m not exactly sure that is what they are called, but I love it!) Now on to the shower, which still looks like the picture I last posted. But I don’t mind, we have the other shower and it is doing us just fine.

Summer fun…..

Sorry for being so long updating the blog. Ever since school got out for summer, we have been swamped!

I decided to teach summer school this year for the elementary ed DHH students and I had a blast! But that it also meant that I didn’t have a day off in between end of the school year and the beginning of summer school. During that time I also decided to try my hand at going back to school myself, and starting my masters from an online program. Well, let’s just say that only lasted one class and I wont be doing it again in the fall. We also had a wedding (Congrats Rob and Kristin!) beach week with the parents, and Respect for Law Camp (I volunteer for that every year) all in the same month! Derick has been putting in a lot of extra hours doing side jobs for friends and family too. Well and working on our kitchen. It was a bit nuts.

Once July has come things have slowed down a bit. Summer school is over and I went to go see my sister in law and her new baby, Tighe. I had forgotten what it was like living with a newborn again. He was a great baby, but it allowed me to get a real feeling of what it is going to be like. Even though I am not physically ready for the baby yet, I am more comfortably mentally set for it to come. I think we will be able to handle it. I do give Jess and Larry props because they also have two toddlers running around too.

Now that I am back home, my goal for the rest of my two weeks I have before the madness of school starting, is to clean my house from top to bottom. (Teachers don’t spring clean, we summer clean.) Kitchen, living room, master bedroom and bath are all finished. I just have the family room, dining room, guest bath, and the extra bedrooms. The baby room has been designated and cleaned out (with the help of my brother Brannon.) We also have furniture! There is a problem though…where I thought I could clean a room a day has turned into three days, two if I really concentrate. Derick has been a great help installing things, moving furniture, and keeping me motivated. This pregnancy thing really slows you down a bit, but I can’t wait to have this place looking normal and feeling clean again!

So Bryan found this star fish while we were down at the beach. It fit the baby pooch perfectly.

Sebastian's new favorite place to sleep, when the door is open. Yes, I will thoroughly clean it before baby uses it.
