Teasers!!!

Our newly married, very talented, friend Cassie took some maternity pictures for Derick and I. These are just a few that she sent me. I think we took over 80 something, so there will be a lot more, but I just like showing these off. She did such a great job!!! I will post the lot of them when they are done with the editing process.

So busy, but nothing going on

Life has been busy. Getting ready for a baby takes a bit of effort, but I think we are almost there. Here are some pictures of what we have been up to for the last month or so.

This is Derick putting together the baby equipment. We are ready to at least feed her, sleep her, travel her, and swing her when she decides to come.

Halloween!
Bryan was on the float committee for his high school for their homecoming. The parents' house was the port for the construction of the pirate ship. They still had it in their back yard at Halloween, so we brought it out dressed as pirates and gave out candy from it. I think the kids liked it. We had fun :)
Me sporting my "I heart my bump shirt" at work. As my principal says "You know it's not a bump any more. It's a ball!"Here is 8 months- 32 weeks 9 months- 36 weeks

I can't really tell a difference in the pictures. I think I was just really big that night we took the 32 weeks. I am bigger now...well i think. We have only about 3 and a half weeks left and I am feeling it! It does not feel good to stand or walk or move or sit or lye down or drive or move my legs. My poor feet are so swollen and don't go down like they used to at night. And the pressure!! I understand now what they were talking about. I know i am complaining. Derick is great though! He has been so good. He even wakes up with me at my "every 2hour pee" at night to help me up out of the bed.

I have started my weekly appointments too and have one next week Wednesday. This past one the midwife was like "I won't say your 1 cm, but you are close." She also said I am getting soft so that means the process has started. D-Penny is head down and I hope thinking about coming out. Her moving arounds have started to become painful too. It feels like she is getting too big for the inn. She has also been having fit of hick-ups. Those are fun. She likes to play with my bladder at times too.

Well, baby room is almost done and so are the maternity leave plans for school. Just waiting for the day to arrive..........

Bouncing Bow

I love this picture. I think it is so cute. We had gone over to my mom's house for my birthday dinner (salmon, broccoli, and coke cake from Cracker Barrel!!) I had put the bow on my belly and we were watching it move all around. It was quite cute. Thanks for the dinner mom!

Some more pictures

This is Derick playing in the pool with our nieces. It was a great surprise having them come. They have a little one too, Tighe. He is 3 1/2 months old. It was nice to have a perspective of what it is going to be like in a couple of months. He was able to break in the crib for us too ;) Yeah, Derick did that to them....
This is the christening that my mother in-law made for the baby. Isn't is amazing?! I could not believe it!! This is Sebastian looking at the camera when I was taking a picture of the chair for my grandma.

In baby news: no news, really. I turn 8 months on Tuesday and go for another check up. I think I have started the braxton hicks contractions. Theyare only a couple times a day and don't hurt really bad yet. I just feel my uterus tighten up for a few seconds then let go. It is kind of weird thinking that my body is practicing and we will have a baby in the matter of 8 weeks, or so. Another thing I have been doing lately has been changing my mind. The things I had decided on earlier in the pregnancy I don't like any more or change what I want. Poor Derick isn't pleased. So many decisions though! I am getting the urge to nest. We got the rest of our essentials so if the baby comes now we have the big things. That makes me feel better.
I would like to ask for a pray too. My aunt is in the hospital and needs all the help we can give her. Just say a little "God, please give her some strength" I think that will help. I really appreciate it.

Surprise Shower

Surprise for Whitney!! They totally got me!!! Our friend Kim put together and hosted a baby shower for Derick and I last weekend. Everyone was in on it but me. We had such a good time. I had a blast!! Here are some pics from the shindig....

This is me coming in and being surprised. The second big surprise was Derick's sister and her family came all the way from Jacksonville for the weekend. This is Natalie giving a big hug.

Here are some people pictures. We had both boys and girls at the party. The boys kind of seperated themselves to the porch, but I think they had fun too.Several of my co-workers came too. I was totally excited. This is Jessica (Derick's sister) Sandy, Rose, and Lenore (co-workers...well Sandy is retired now and loving it.)

We played all the traditional games. This is Derick guessing how big around I was. Needless to say, he didn't win. My co-worker Rose was the closest. We also played "take the pin if I say baby" game, baby scramble, and baby bingo. Yes, and those are their official names.
Present time....

This was a chair from church that I used to sit in when I was little. And so did my mom, and dad, and step dad, and some of my aunts and uncles too. They are replacing them now and members are painting the old ones. My Nama got it for us. We got so many great things!! I will say thank you now to everyone, but expect a formal thank yous in the mail soon...well my soon. And a special thank you to Kim for making the day so great!!

Derick's B-day

We deiced to have a little BBQ shindig for Derick's 30th. We all had lots of fun. Here are some pictures from the party.

This is the spread of food and everything in the house.

Here is a picture of Derick and I with our friends' daughter Kaylee (I'm not sure how she spells it. Sorry Kim.) This is our other friends' son Will. He was rocking out on rock band! I tell you what- that game is all inclusive for everyone and is quite fun to play....and watch!
This is Derick playing with one of his gifts. This is actually what started everyone playing Rock Band. This is the cake that I got. It says "His name is Jaws. He kills people." It is from James Bond's Moonraker. It was between that or "Im just here for the birds," but i thought this was fun.

Here are some picture of the brothers being all BA. Brannon and Kevyn. I can't believe how both of them are looking like men now. It is crazy.

This is a video of Brannon, Kevyn, and a couple of our friends kids making a 4 man tower in the pool. Very impressive.

I think everyone had a good time. Derick is now old and 30, but if you ask him he says he has been waiting for his 30's for a long time. He couldn't wait.

What's going on...

We had a very exciting long weekend. Besides Derick doing awesome on his "Fight Gone BAD" Derick and I made a trip to the gun show and rearrange the living room and dining room. Derick finished my furniture projects, a new entertainment center and book shelf. Yes, he made them himself! I love them!!

I got the idea of this entertainment center while shopping. I took a picture of a wine rack that was on its side. I brought it hope and asked if he could make it. He said "Yes, if I get a flatscreen to go on top." (Some how he must of known I had already been in the process of saving for it.) Needless to say got my entertainment center. He got his flat screen- which happens to be his 30th birthday present. Yes, Derick is turning 30 next week!

The same kind of story goes with the bookshelf. We were walking in Lowe's and they had this A frame bookshelf. Whitney-"Derick, I really like that." Derick-"I can make it." And so he did! I know he is done making funiture for awhile though.

Don't mess with us! So Derick and I have stepped up security around here, ever since the break-ins last month. We did get a security system installed and made a trip to the gun show for extra "protection." This is me practicing "protecting" myself. So we did realize after the fact that it was probably not the best idea to go to the range pregnant, but we did do it safely. She didn't mind the shooting as much as the Latin cover band a couple of weeks ago. She was sleeping most of the time, only when someone was shooting .357 did she move to where I could feel her.
In other baby news-
D-Penny is kicking up a storm now and causing my body to do the fun pregnancy things i.e. I had to take off my wedding ring this weekend because I am retaining water. My feet are starting to swell too. It has been really fun being able to feel a head or a butt sticking out of my belly. Other than that....nothing too exciting.
I did realize that some people don't get the D-Penny thing, my parents didn't. Derick's friends call him D Money. It is a nick name they game him a while ago that just stuck. While talking about baby names someone came up with the idea that we could call our little one D-cent or D-Penny. Since it is a girl and we can't decide on a real name we call her D-Penny.
