Camping over Labor Day

Over the break we packed our bags and headed ourselves for our first camping trip with O'lena. She has been out once while the grandparents were camping, but did not stay. I think we all really enjoyed ourselves. I know I did.

Derick's project was cooking. He has taken up the skill of dutch oven cooking and man is he good at it! I think he kind of likes it.
This is how we do the patotes out there. It is fun. They are quite tasty that way too.
O'lena got so plumb tuckered out that she fell asleep on G-Grandma Cookie. I was amazed! She only passes out on grandpa and daddy. I think G-Cookie has the magic touch too.
I love this picture! We had gotten this little highchair just for this trip, but it seems to come in handy for other times too. She was really cute that morning, just sitting up on the table eating cheerios. It was amazing, the little girl slept until 10 am one morning! Mom says it is just what happens out there. I know I sleep a lot and it doesnt mattter if I'm on the floor or not.
I loved that last pic, but this is my favorite out of the bunch. She just sat there listening to him read for like a half an hour. It was so heart warming.
Here was our set up. We just went out to the Methodist camp on Alva like normal. I have been trying to talk my folks into doing something a bit different, changing it up a bit, but they have preregistered for like the next year.
Derick and I also borrowed a camper from a friend from church with intention to check it out for purchase. Wellllllllllll.... we are purchasing it. I fell in love. It is a small one with stuff to fix up, but it is just the right size for us and we kind of like the work. It is much better then a tent any day! It was heaven with the baby too. It has AC and beds. Two good things on my list. I will have to take some more pictures of it when we get it out again. Over all it was a nice trip. For some reason I am really enjoying camping alot more now than I did as a kid. I'm not sure why...
