Fight Gone BAD

Derick worked really hard raising money for Wounded Soldiers. A local gym Derick does work for and occasionally workouts at, did "Fight Gone Bad." It is where people sponsor a person, Derick, to do a rigorous work out. It is a set up of 5 stations and the workoutters rotate through stations 3 times at 1 minute each, with a minute to rest after one complete of 5 station rotation. You are to do as many reps as you can in one minute. The thing is, you tend to do very well the first round, but by the third round you are very tired. Derick rocked though!! Not to brag about my man, but he had the best score in the gum!! He also raised $195 for the cause!! Here are some pictures and videos from the event.

Derick and Rob before starting the workout.

This is a shot of the guys doing the stations. I love the fact that Jim is in mid air jumping on the box. I forget the technical term for the box and all the other exercises.

I love this shot! I just had to....

Derick jumping on the box. It 20 inches high. I know for a fact I would not be able to do anything close to that.

This is Rob recovering after it was over. He did recover successfully.

This the after shot. These are videos of Derick and Kristin killing the.....okay I have to ask Derick what these are called again. Anyways the men's were 75 pounds and women's were lighter, but not by much really.

I was really impressed with it all. Everyone put their hearts into it and they were doing it for a good cause. I'm sure they asked they asked themselves why they were doing it in the process, but if you asked them they would do it all over again. Well they actually will. Next year. I think they even do a practice round midyear.

Check out the site http://www.fgb4.org/

This is the gym's webstite too. http://www.crossfitfortmyers.com/ There is a bunch of information and pictures of the workout. There were different groups. If you scroll through the first group Derick, Rob, Kristin, and Jim are in the second.

7 months and counting

Started my every two weeks visit to the midwife today. Everything went well after my very late arrival for our school went into lockdown as I was trying to leave. We got to have another look at the baby. They even did a picture in 3D. She wasn’t cooperating very well, but it was really cool. My amniotic fluid was up too, so that is really good.

This is just a normal ultrasound. You can see her nose and her sticking out her upper lip. The squilly thing is her umbilical cord.

This is the 3D picture. It was really hard to get a clear picture of the picture. The picture itself wasn't clear. She has Derick's nose! Isn't she cute?! :)

Look at how big I have grown! It is like a watermelon. I am officially starting to feel pregnant though. Getting in and out of the car and sitting/getting up are all becoming a hassle. Everything is starting to get pushed up into the rib cage, too. I know I am complaining. D Penny is 2lb and 6oz. She grew more than 1/2lb in two weeks!

This is a picture of Derick and I at the Jazz on the green in Naples. It was a bit wet at first, but it dried up nicely. Im not sure if D Penny liked the music or not; she was squirming and kicking the whole time the band was playing. Maybe it was the bad Latin cover music. My belly hurt so badly afterwards.

LEE COUNTY: Authorities are investigating a string of burglaries in the Orange River Hills area of Fort Myers. Residents there want to know who is responsible.

One car was stolen right from the garage and had every window - and even the front windshield - smashed. Then, that car was driven right into a ditch.

It has Orange River Hills resident Joahne Burton worried.

"The first step is the cars. The second step is the house, and then who knows whatever," she said.

This year, deputies say they have investigated at least six break-ins on that same street.

Orange River resident Lynn Zenczak explained her home has been broken into three times. She said during the last time, she almost made an arrest in her driveway.

"We caught somebody in our car. My husband and I tried to chase him down. He looked to be about 16-years-old and we couldn't grab him," she said.

Now, residents say they are just keeping their eyes peeled and their vehicles and homes locked up.

Ultrasound update

Derick, mom and I went to the see the midwife this past week. It ended up being a fun trip. I got an ultrasound, blood drawn for my baby diabetes test (I don’t find out the results until next week,) poked for the flu shot, and realized I was a week off counting how far along I am. For some reason I thought I was 27 weeks, but I am 26 weeks. The ultrasound went well. The baby is looking good and is still a girl. When the ultrasound tech was pointing out to us the parts that show it is a girl, Derick asked “What would you see if it was boy.” Her response? “A penis…..” Thanks Derick.

Here are some pictures. There are repeats, some with the flash and without. It is hard getting a good pictures of the pictures.

D-Penny profile with her hand up by her face.

Profile again, but you can see her heart right in the middle. It is the coolest thing when they show you it beating close up. You can see all four chambers and everything!

This is a foot. A two inch foot! She has her mama feet already.

This is the picture that shows D-Penny is still is a girl.

The only issue we have is that my amniotic fluid is low, still in the normal range but on the low side. I need to increase my fluids and we are going to check it out again in two weeks. I also now start visiting them every two weeks anyways. The baby is the right size though. She was small last ultrasound, in the 24th percentile, but she is now in the 48th percentile. Right were she should be. Oh she is 1lb and 12oz. Almost two pounds.

Derick and I still haven’t decided on a name. Kaylin won the poll so we defiantly keep that in mind, but there is nothing definite. At this rate we are both so over it that she might not get one until we get to the hospital. We call her D-Penny for fun.

In other news: The parents got broken into last week (the new big garage outback.) They didn’t get anything because mom heard them and got Jim to go out there and he scared them off. It kind of got me be a bit nervous though. Then Derick got stopped by some dude last night IN OUR DRIVEWAY wanting money (at 10:30pm!) Now I am getting REALLY nervous!! We are going to be looking into getting a security system and better lighting around the house. Thing just seem to keep happening. My new theme in life: be proactive not reactive.

Picking Baby Names

So Derick and I finally sat (we somewhat sat) down and talked about names. Here are five of our favorites (in no particular order): Abigail, Leaha, Eliza, Kaylin, and Annabel. Jessica gave me the idea to poll and see what you guys think. I believe everyone can vote and you don't have to have an account like posting comments. Try at least. We are very interested to see what would win. Though there is no guarantees that we will keep it :) Spellings are up for debate too.

The poll should be on the right.

6 Months

I am starting to feel pregnant! The baby is getting bigger!! Some people still don't believe I am 6 months pregnant, though. I don't believe I am 6 months along already. Where does the time go? I think am getting bigger by the day. This was taken about a week ago and Derick says I need to take another one, because I am bigger already. My mom says "your belly is now bigger than your boobs." Thanks mom. :)

Half way there

The baby pooch at 20 weeks (5 months.)

We are officially half way there! I cannot believe it! The cool thing is, the next day I felt her kicking for the first time!! I was sitting on my couch and had a glass of water sitting on my lap and she kicked it! I didn't believe it at first, but she did it again and hasn't stopped kicking since. She especially doesn't like the seat belt. Derick was able to feel it, faintly, the other night, but every time we try again she doesn't want to obey.

Still no closer to deciding on a name.
